Great release in the theaters of the documentary [REC] Non-stop terror next October 28th – Diffusion (Filmax)
Without doubt the first film of the saga. [REC] It marked a before and after for Spanish horror cinema, and a remake was produced in Hollywood a year after its premiere in 2007. Now, 15 years later, comes the documentary. [REC] non-stop terror which will be released in Spanish cinemas on 28 October and will have its world premiere at the 55th edition of Sitges Film Festivalfrom 6 to 16 October.
[REC] non-stop terror portrays the birth and impact of the first film in the saga around the world. Which was a critical and box office success, as well as in major film festivals such as Sitges, Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival or Brussels International Festival, added to the Goya for Best New Actress for Manuela Velasco.
The production of [REC] non-stop terror
The documentary tours different areas of the making [REC]with interviews with the two directors of the saga, Jaume Balaguero Y Paco Squareas well as cast members, such as Javier Botet or the aforementioned Manuela Velasco, as well as several people belonging to the production, art direction or photography team, just to name a few.
The director of this film Diego Lopez-Fernandezalso expressed his enthusiasm for the project, commenting that it was an extraordinary journey to be able to generate all this research and analysis of such an incredible film, being also a staunch fan of the horror movie.
For me, [REC] It was like being slapped in the face. When I saw it in 2007, in Sitges, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Since then the film has become one of my favorite films, ”comments the director of the film.

[REC] It premiered on November 23, 2007, being a bet by producer Julio Fernández for Spanish horror cinema, under the Fantastic Factory label. Now [REC] non-stop terror this produced by Carlos Fernandez and Laura Fernandez Brites for Filmax and Nadine Rothschild for Volta Production.
The first film in the saga told us the story of a journalist who is locked up in a building in Barcelona, which has been quarantined due to the outbreak of a zombie infection. Its budget did not reach € 2 million, but it managed to raise a total of € 10 million in Spain alone and a total of € 15 million worldwide.
Although the following installments of the horror saga did not have a similar success, dividing the opinions of critics and raising less than the first, it is a fact that today [REC] It continues to be one of the most important films of the horror genre in Spain.
