Squid game Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk is thinking about the future of his hugely successful Netflix series. She is already preparing the second season, which will go into production next year. But, if the show gets a third season, it’s looking to include major Hollywood actors like Leonard Di Caprio. He says he will “probably” become part of Squid Game.
Hwang recently stated that DiCaprio has “said many times that he is a huge fan”. He went on to say that “Maybe if time allows and if the possibilities allow, we should ask him to join the game. We have already joked about this ”.
As of now, however, with the second season, Hwang has stated that involving Hollywood actors is “not in my plan” as the series will again be set in Korea. But he went on to say that if a third season happens, that “will probably change” and said many other Hollywood stars have shared their love of the show with him.
Hwang also said that Netflix has increased the budget for the second season, which he is still writing. Hwang decided which games will be featured in season two, but he wouldn’t reveal any. He also asked the media to keep the games to themselves if they find out.
The Squid game the creator said, “Please don’t write articles about games because audiences need to feel the suspense and thrill of what’s to come next.” Then he joked: “If I get too drunk and stammer, I ask you to choke me to stop me from giving spoilers.”
Hwang went on to admit he “feels the pressure” after the insane popularity of the first season, but this is giving him “motivation”.
Squid game Production of the second season will begin in 2023 and will be released on Netflix in 2024.
