
Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness) And Marco Forte (1917, Kingsman) have joined Jodie Comer (Kill Eve, free boy) in the upcoming apocalyptic thriller The end from which we start.
The film is based on Megan Hunter ‘s novel and adapted by Bafta nominee Alice Birch (Normal people, Succession). The film is described as “a powerful story of hope about the trials and joys of new motherhood in the midst of the devastating floods engulfing the city of London”.
The story tells “a modern parable of rebirth and renewal, of maternal bonds and the instinct to survive and thrive in the absence of all that is familiar”.
The book’s description reads: “As London is submerged in floodwaters, a woman gives birth to her first child, Z. Days later, she and her baby are forced to leave their home in search of safety. They head north through a recently dangerous country seeking refuge from place to place. The story traces fear and wonder as the child grows, thrives and settles against all odds.
The film is directed by Mahalia Beloand is also the protagonist Catherine Waterston (Fantastic beasts, the world to come), Joel Fri (Cruella, Yesterday), Gina McKee (My Policeman, Policy), And Nina Sosanya (Lives, Its dark materials).
