Since it premiered on August 18 and with only three episodes aired so far, “She-Hulk: Lawyer Hulka” has generated a lot of conversation online, both for and against. But no scene has been talked about as much on the Internet as the twerking scene.

In the post-credits scene of the third episode we see Jen Walters in She-Hulk mode twerks with guest star Megan Thee Stallion, to the rhythm of one of his most famous songs, ‘Body. The dance between the superhero lawyer and the popular American rapper has caused a strong shockwave on social networks, generating a debate about humor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and whether there is a double standard because it is a female character – by the time that comically dancing superhero gags there have been many throughout the MCU (Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy”, Zemo in “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, etc.).
Debates aside, for those curious to know how the scene in question was shot, a couple of behind-the-scenes images of the episode surfaced online, in which we see Maslany dancing alongside the rapper. The photos confirm that it is the actress herself who is twerking in the scene, standing on a platform and dressed in a motion capture outfit to translate her dance into CGI character.

Cameos are becoming one of the big attractions of the series. In addition to Wong (Benedict Wong), Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) or Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), in the next few episodes we will also see, among others, Charlie Cox in the role of Daredevil. “She-Hulk: Lawyer Hulka” premieres a new episode every Thursday on Disney +. The season will feature nine in total.
A dream come true
In a recent interview with IGN, director and executive producer Kat Coiro revealed the prom wasn’t originally in the scriptbut “Tatiana is such a fan that we entered her at the last moment”. As Maslany reveals to the same medium, the series’ lead writer Jessica Gao did not tell him that Megan Thee Stallion would appear in the series until two days before her so as not to lose focus on her work: “He told me we wouldn’t be able to record anything because he would be in a catatonic state.”.
On the other hand, Coiro revealed that Megan’s cameo was suggested by Jameela Jamil, who plays the evil Titania in the series and worked with her on the competing reality show “Legendary”. “Megan is a huge fan of the MCU”says the director about the rapper. “She blew us away. Not only is she beautiful, talented and fit for the part, but she is also it has incredible power and carries it forward, so it fits thematically into the world of the series. Tatiana was very excited to dance with her, it was a joy to watch you. “.
