Director Craig Gillespie is lining up its cast for GameStop’s next stock movie Stupid money with Paolo Dano (The Batman), Seth Rogen (Green Hornet), Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) And Pete Davidson (Suicide squad).
The project is set up at Black Bear Pictures with Rebecca Angelo And Lauren Schuker Blum adapting the script with that of the Ryder Picture Company Aaron Ryder.
Stupid money tells the story of fortunes won and lost overnight “in the short David-vs.-Goliath GameStop squeeze that could have changed Wall Street forever. It offers a compelling depiction of how a loosely affiliated group of private investors and internet trolls on a subreddit called WallStreetBets took down one of Wall Street’s largest hedge funds, firing the first shot in a revolution that threatened to overturn the establishment. .
Producer Teddy Schwarzman he said in a statement: “Black Bear has diamond hands for Stupid money. Lauren and Rebecca have masterfully adapted Ben Mezrich’s outstanding book which details one of the greatest underdog stories of our time. Craig Gillespie is an extraordinary leader with an exceptional vision and has assembled an extraordinary whole. We are honored to partner with him, Aaron Ryder, and this fantastic team in front and behind the camera to carry Soften Money to the public all over the world “.
The whole GameStop action thing was incredibly fascinating. It will certainly be an interesting film. With the director and cast reunited, it will also be a great movie! Principal shooting will begin in October.
