For the second time, “Navidad en Corto” is back, and this time Universal Studio and Los Cabos International Film Festival come together to find the best Christmas shorts in Latin America. The call has already been launched and will award the best 10 productions with a prize of 7 thousand dollars.
The Los Cabos International Film Festival has been held since 2012, where productions are promoted not only by Mexico, but by the film industry in Latin America, the United States and Canada. It’s at at the next edition, which will be held from 9 to 13 November, Studio Universal and the festival officially announce the call.
Starting Thursday 1st September Universal Studio and the Los Cabos International Film Festival will receive short films from all over Latin Americato participate in the second episode of “Christmas in Short”, in which only the best 10 will be selected to compete for the money.
The announcement and all the bases, as well as the registration, will be open until October 17, 2022, on the official website of the Cabos Film Festival. The requirements will be that the short film has a duration of 3 to 10 minutes and resides in Mexico, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile , Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The winning short films will be screened in 22 countries
In addition to the cash prize, the 10 short films selected as finalists will have the opportunity to be broadcast through the Universal Studio television channel, available in more than 22 Latin American countries, with which their proposal can be enjoyed outside the Los Cabos International Festival. .
According to the press release, the idea for the new edition of “Christmas in Short” is that there are spaces dedicated to “original content created by the public to enhance the talent of Latin American artists”. The qualifying jury will be composed of “specialists and experts from all over the continent, who will evaluate the originality of the story, the quality of the photography, the production, among other great added values of each proposal”.
