Nicolas Cage is fresh from his return to big-screen comedy with this spring’s blockbuster The unbearable weight of massive talentin which he played a fictionalized version of himself in front of a super fan of Nick Cage played by Pedro Pasquale. It was previously reported that next year we will see him in horror comedy Renfieldin which he takes on the iconic role of Dracula.
We have now heard that Cage has taken on a new comedic role in the upcoming film Dream scenariofrom the A24. Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of myself) is writing and directing the film, and Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen will produce under their Square Peg brand.
In addition to being described as a comedy, the details of the project are kept under wraps.
Jacob Jaffke and Tyler Campellone will produce alongside A24, Aster and Knudsen. This marks the fourth collaboration between Square Peg and A24 since Hereditary, Noon and the upcoming Boulevard of disappointment with Joaquin Phoenix.
Meanwhile, Cage will star in the western thriller Crossing of the butcher within this year, where he plays a buffalo hunter.
