Alternative endings that completely change the way you watch these horror movies

All the stories in the cinema at some point weren’t the ones that eventually made it to the cinema, some that started out as comedies ended up being romantic dramas or vice versa. But this time, there are some horror movies with some alternative endings that you would never have imagined

Alien

One of the greatest classics of the genre, among other things, for the design of the Xenomorph and for that closure in which the character of Sigourney Weaver defeats his alien enemy. But if the story was scary enough, the alternate ending of ‘Alien’was even more. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ridley Scott revealed that Ellen Ripley was originally killed by the alien, who ripped her head off.

The thing

A few years after the release of “Alien”, another of the best horror films in history was released, “The Thing” by John Carpenter. Although the film never had a sequel, the alternate ending could bring it, as there is a TV version where the dog can be seen running away, implying that the creature could spread around the world.

Nightmare on Elm Street

Clear proof that leaving an open ending can be more fruitful if you want to continue the story is “Nightmare on Elm Street”, which had another scene completely different from the one known. In it, Nancy finally beats Freddy Krueger and, in doing so, has left her place in her car, with a smile on her face. That closed the possibility of a sequel.

28 days later

Already at the turn of the century, the genre saw one of its new jewels in the horror film by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. ’28 days later’ it had an alternate ending where the characters survivebut now that they were infected, it was thought to remove all their blood and refill them with new one, so they could stay alive.

The downhill

The group of girls who went through an ordeal in this horror film did not go unnoticed even in the cinema. In ‘The Descent’, the alternate ending changes the happy moment of the film, because Sarah, after leaving the hole in the cave, realizes that everything was a dream, and the memory of her daughter was just a hallucination, while The monsters are slowly approaching.

World War Z

Finally, in the story starring Brad Pitt, his character, along with his family, manages to find the cure for the plague of the undead. However, there is an alternate ending to “World War Z” that few are familiar with, in which Gerry discovers that zombies are sensitive to cold, while his wife had to have sex with a military man to protect their daughters.
