PlayStation Productions partnered with Ridley ScottScott Free Productions will develop a film adaptation of the hit 2012 action-adventure video game Gravity stroke. Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Royal Seconds Born, The Rookie, The best in Los Angeles, In the darkness, Runaway, ShamelessAnd Gossip Girl,) was hired to direct the film from a screenplay written by Emilia Girolamo (Panopticon).
The open-world game for PlayStation Vita was developed by Japan Studio’s Project Siren. The main character of the game is an amnesic young woman named Kat who discovers she can control the gravity around herself. After awakening in the floating city of Heksville, Kat slowly masters her powers as she uncovers the secrets of her past. She also faces fierce monsters called Nevi.
PlayStation Productions is under the Sony Pictures brand, so it’s safe to assume they will distribute the image.
I’ve never played this game, but it looks like it could make a really cool movie with the right creative team.
