The controversy over ‘The Batman’ does not end, because since it was announced, there has been controversy with fans over the casting of Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz and Paul Dano. But now a former DC Comics writer and artist has accused director Matt Reeves of plagiarizing the film’s script.

On his Twitter account, @BatmanGate, the comic artist and writer who once worked for DC, Chris Wozniak accuses Matt Reeves of plagiarism with the script for ‘Batman’. Quickly, some fans of the company and critics of the story with Robert Pattinson came out to support Wozniak.

Allegedly, Wozniak would have given a script to producer Michael Uslan, who was responsible for some of the Dark Knight films. The writer claims that said story is the same as ‘Batman’, so he would have already gone to the respective authorities to file a complaint for theft of intellectual property, according to Wozniak himself.

In a YouTube video, the actor explained it to have “evidence” to prove Matt Reeves’ plagiarism with ‘Batman’: “I will discuss the differences between my story and the film and use them to show that the film is based directly on my plot and not on another story.”

Did Matt Reeves steal “The Batman” story?

Given the multiple Batman stories over the years, in comics, video games, and movies, it’s nearly impossible to trace whether Matt Reeves’ storyline is 100% original. But Woznak himself finds common ground between his ideas and what was later seen on the tape with Robert Pattinson.

In the first, he mentions that, in his story, James Gordon is the last cop who is not corrupt, while the Riddler wants to reveal Batman’s identity, and the Joker is behind him supporting him. At the end of the plot, the Dark Knight injects himself with an antidote for a toxin released by the villain.

While these points are quite similar between the two stories, there are nuances that help distinguish that it’s not the same idea. For example, the Joker and the Riddler don’t meet until the end of “The Batman”. However, netizens realized that Wozniak wants to raise money on a donation platform, where he asks fans for $ 4 million for his lawsuit against Warner.
