Very little remains for the simultaneous world premiere of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” series, that in Spain it’s our turn at 3:00 on 2 September with two episodes. To whet your appetite, Amazon Prime Video has already released the original season 1 soundtrack, which takes us for the first time to the Second Age of Middle-earth created by JRR Tolkien. is composed by Emmy Bear winner McCreary, although the theme song, “The Lord of the Rings: The Main Title of the Rings of Power,” is by Academy Award winner Howard Shore.
The list available worldwide on all streaming services consists of 37 songs, but if you are an Amazon Music user you will also have access to two exclusive songs: “Find the Light” and “The Promised King”. According to the statement released by Amazon, in addition to this album, after the premiere of each chapter, “Amazon Music will release a weekly soundtrack album that will feature all the music from each episode, plus bonus tracks only available on Amazon Music.”. In addition, the presale of physical formats on CD and LP has been opened, with an Amazon-exclusive vinyl variant.
McCreary has recorded and composed hours and hours of soundtracks at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, as well as at the AIR Studios and the Synchron Stage in Vienna: “I feel very fortunate to compose the music that will help guide the audience through the major events of the Second Age of Middle-earth.”says the composer. The soundtrack of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” includes two songs in which we can listen to two of the actresses of the series: Sophia Nomvete (Disa) in the song “A Plea to the Rocks” and Megan Richards (Poppy Proudfellow) in “This Wandering Day”.
