“John Wick 4” took his time to delve into the character’s mythology, which is why, according to its director Chad Stahelski, we are facing the longest episode of the saga. Stahelski, a director who has developed this franchise since its inception, ensures that the extra minutes came naturally due to everything they wanted to present in the next film directed by Keanu Reeves, the premiere of which is scheduled for next year.

Stahelski, who provided new details on ‘John Wick 4’ during an interview with Variety from the red carpet at the premiere of the Netflix film ‘Day Shift’, of which he is a producer; abandoned that Chapter 4 would be the longest because they were carried away by the demands of history. “I love mythology. I love a good myth. I really don’t believe, at least for the ‘John Wick’ films, in a three-act structure. I believe in telling stories and leaving them [fluir]. You know, we’ve always seen John Wick as Ulysses, so we took the time to tell the story. Until we fall asleep watching the film, we follow the narrative”.

This director also jokes that the limit would be the moment it starts to become apparent that they would like to go to the bathroom, but if not, as long as the action maintains a pace that captures the viewer, Stahelski has no interest in synthesizing. Although few plot details have been revealed for the fourth installment, an action-packed preview with Reeves as the star could be seen at Comic-Con, some imagery built around the key to a universe that has two upcoming spin-offs: a film starring Ana de Armas, ‘Ballerina’and the ‘The Continental’ series.

more ninja

Stahelski did not want to talk about specific curves, but made it clear that “John Wick 4” will reveal more details about the world of Wick, the Continental and that network of assassins that give John so much war. He also added that, after spectacular scenes like the one with the motorized ninjas chasing Wick through New York, we will see more ninjas “Ninjas in machines I guess. I don’t know! But I’m still ninja”.

While the fourth installment of the saga is expected to hit theaters in March next year, ‘John Wick 5 ‘is still in the mind but in the air despite Stahelski being optimisticand recently stated that she will most likely be put with her on the “John Wick 4” promotional tour “with a few glasses of Yamazaki or Hibiki”.
