Fans have been thrilled with the return of Charlie Cox’S Reckless to the MCU. What began as a Netflix Marvel series is now integrated into the Marvel Universe as we know it with Cox’s Matt Murdoch becoming Peter Parker’s attorney in Spider-Man: There is no way to go home and his evil archenemy Kingpin returning in Disney + Hawk eye series.
But Reckless it wasn’t the only beloved Marvel series on Netflix that fans were hoping to see return. The Punisher it was an equally fantastic series, and we were expecting the big one Jon Bernthal to be welcomed again to play it. Although no official word has fallen yet, Rosario Dawsonwho played Claire Temple on the Marvel Netflix series, appeared on a panel at C2E2 this weekend (via PopVerse) and dropped what could be a big reveal.
“Yesterday I found out the Punisher was happening again, so I feel like it’s my second chance,” Dawson said during the event, referring to the fact that The Punisher it was the only one of the Marvel shows in which she did not appear.
So this isn’t official, but it looks like she knows something we don’t know! But if it’s a misunderstanding, I hope the MCU bosses take it as a sign that fans want Bernthal to come back as The Punisher! I know yes.
To the previous question about the possibility of returning to the role while promoting the independent film Repair of small enginesBernthal said The outburst on the screen:
“You know, we’ll see. I mean, honestly, I don’t think about it much. I’m really happy – look, we’re all extremely lucky to do it. I can tell for the other guys you’re talking to too, we really love it. We really like it. We work hard at it, we support our families through it, through it, but we never lose sight of how grateful we are to be in the position that we are in that we can do it for a living. I enjoy doing this. I enjoy working with people that I respect, love, admire and make things with. This type of project is precisely, is exactly the kind of thing I want to do. So, whatever else comes, you know, kind of along the way, comes. But this it’s something worth celebrating. “
With Charlie Cox back on the payroll, I think this announcement is really only a matter of time, but I hope it happens soon, and I hope Rosario Dawson doesn’t get in trouble for blowing up the surprise.
