WGA East Sets Selection List for First Election Since Members Approved Guild Reorganization

WGA East is holding its first election since its members voted overwhelmingly in June to restructure the guild to provide “more balanced representation” across the three business sectors: film/television/broadcast, broadcast/cable/news broadcast, and online media.

In the race for vice president, the uncontested Sarah David is elected vice president, representing online media members, while Matt Nelko, Philip Pilato, and Cathy McGee compete for vice president, representing broadcast news. .

The only other contested race consists of seven candidates vying for six board seats representing the film/TV/broadcast workforce: Gene Koprowski and incumbent Erica Saleh, AM Homes, Monica Lee Bellais, Gina Gionfrido, Tian Jun Gu and Caitlyn Fontana.

Gail Lee, Justin Rafael DiLauro and Elizabeth Godwick are the three candidates vying for three board seats representing the broadcast/cable/broadcast news industry.

Two candidates vying for two council seats representing the online media workforce are Susan Rinkunas and Jessica Schulberg.

Voting between current and active guild members starts on September 1 and ends on September 15 at the annual guild member meeting. Members can only vote for candidates in their field of study.
