The writers and directors of this year’s incredible film Everything Everywhere All At Once, Daniel Scheinert And Daniel Kwanalso known as Daniels, they are teaming up with Nathan Min And Steven Yeun to make a new comedy series called Showtime Mason. Min created the project with A24 and will also be executive producer and star of the series based on his life. The show is described as a surrealist comedy about a quiet man named Nathan, often misinterpreted as “Mason”, seeking connection in a noisy world.
The Daniels will direct and executive produce with Yeun also executive producer. Daniels’ production partner Jonathan Wang will also executive produce. Yeun is executive producing under his Universal Remote banner alongside Adam Kopp.
Amy Israel, Showtime’s executive vice president of original programming for global scripted series, said of the project:
“Nathan brought Showtime a disarming, fun and exciting project that feels like a punch in the stomach as it skillfully conveys the trials and tribulations of human beings today. We can’t wait to see him collaborate with Daniels – who has emerged as a force with their incredible and shocking film that revolutionized what seemed possible on screen – as well as multi-talent Steven Yeun and our friends from A24. MASON has every chance to emerge as a brilliant and cathartic comedy for our viewers. “
The Daniels’ other credits include critically acclaimed films such as Swiss army manas well as the Showtime series About becoming a god in central Floridaand the Comedy Central series Awkwafina is Nora from Queens.
The Daniels definitely have our attention. Can’t wait to check out this series. We will let you know how Mason is later in the production process.
