Marvel I am Groot the animated series will be a fun show. I’ve already had the opportunity to see the first episode and I loved it! This is going to be a silly and wild good time. I am Groot will consist of five short films that will focus on “Baby Groot” as it approaches the hijackings and will introduce fans to several new and unusual characters.
We have a new photo from the series to share with you today along with some additional details about the show.
The five episodes are directed by Kirsten Leporeand the series picks up from James Gunn’S Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II. vin Diesel is reprising her role as Groot’s voice, Bradley Cooper will return to voice Rocket Raccoon and Gunn is the executive producer of the show.
Lepore told Empire in a recent interview: “As much as Groot is still and he’s still cute, he’s also a bad kid who’s very mischievous.” He goes on to say that the series is an opportunity to “go crazy and make it weird and rude and sci-fi. It was a really fun sandbox to play in.”
Another thing we can expect to see from the series is that it will lean on comedy: “There aren’t a lot of comedy shows on the Marvel animation roster, so even if they’re short films, we really have to play how fun they are.
Lepore continues to tease an episode of the series titled “Magnum Opus”, in which we see Groot getting crafty with items snatched from his friends, “I will say that maybe he steals some things from some of his fellow Guardians who may or may not make an appearance, to create something truly great and truly wonderful.He might have an Easter Egg entry in one of our episodes.
