Oscar and Emmy winning actress Reese Witherspoon (Walk the line, Wild, Little big lies, The morning show) has a lot on her plate these days, with incredible series she stars in and produces, and loads of other projects she’s attached to. One of her most iconic roles is that of Elle Woods in the two-film series Legally blonde. She and her fans still look back on those films with such love and admiration that it makes absolutely sense that after all these years there is still a buzz about a possible third film.
Witherspoon recently told USA Today that he still hopes the film does “the right way”, which might surprise fans given that Legally blonde 3 it once had a release date in 2022. Development is taking longer than Witherspoon anticipated.
“I’m still hoping for it Legally blonde 3 it will come together in the right way. It’s just like Top Gun. They waited a long time to make another version of that movie and I loved the nostalgic piece they incorporated into it. So surely this gave us a lot of inspiration as to what we wanted to do with Elle Woods and make sure we have all those same milestones that mattered to people back then.
Witherspoon added: “I feel these characters are my friends, so I protect them. I would never do the shoddy, mediocre version of their story.
Top Gun: Maverick proved that it really doesn’t matter how much time has passed between sequels. If the right script comes along, I know they will be able to make a great fan movie. I hope it happens. And you?
