Heather Graham just wrapped shooting a new untitled horror movie HP Lovecraft. She stars in the film together Judas Lewis (The nanny), Bruce Davison (X-Men), Johnathon Schaech (That thing you do!), and screams queen Barbara Crampton (Resuscitator).
The film is based on Lovecraft’s short story The thing on the thresholdand the story is described as “an erotic body-swapping horror, in which a psychiatrist played by Graham becomes obsessed with a young client with multiple personalities.”
The film was directed by Joe Lynch (Chaos) and the script was written by Dennis Paolowho wrote the scripts for the Lovecraft adaptations Resuscitator And From beyond. The film project was shot in Mississippi.
Barbara Crampton said in a statement, “We have been so lucky to work with top talent both behind and in front of the camera in our recent films. At Amp it’s about developing not only memorable and inspiring material for an audience, but also fresh and unusual enough to attract the best creative contributors. I was ecstatic when first the formidable Joe Lynch, then Heather Graham signed: his natural charm is always in evidence, but here we can see a different untapped side of his abilities. I was thrilled to be invited to join experienced Amp professionals and we’re just getting started. “
Joe Lynch added: “When I read the adaptation of Dennis Paoli’s story, I felt there was a fantastic opportunity to update and subvert Lovecraft’s often antiquated sensibility in a way that felt modern, relevant and even dangerous, with a dash of ’90s neo-noir and a dash of eroticism to flavor the stew. Working with Amp and such an amazing cast – including Heather, Judah, Barbara, Bruce and Johnathon – we’re so excited that this sexy, fun and scary is not just a modernized love letter to Lovecraft, but the kind of provocative “sin-ema” entertainment “I think audiences are mouth watering!”
It looks like an intriguing movie! I’m a huge fan of HP Lovecraft, so it will be interesting to see how this movie turns out!
