Even when Amazon Prime Video’s superhero series had scenes that might be sensitive to a given audience, there are still even more brutal and violent moments in the comic. And with the confirmation of the fourth season, Homelander’s death appears to be the closure approaching, but not as fans of the original story imagine.
During three seasons, ‘The boys’ on Amazon Prime Video has shown that it does not limit itself to showing explicit scenes of all kinds. However, there have been some changes in the series from the original comic, which made fans think that the ending could be very different from the story created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
Despite his differences, Patriot is the real villain of the Amazon Prime Video series, and although it is not confirmed that the fourth season will be his end, Homelander could die ‘The boys’ Coming soon. But for that, let’s see the tragic end of him in the comics.
After summoning the Supes to the White House, Homelander is the only one who comes to the call where he shows him photographs of unspeakable crimes that he can’t remember, which makes him completely hostile. That’s when Billy Butcher comes to check on the situation in the Oval Office.
Homelander’s death in “The Boys”
It is when these two start arguing and are interrupted by Black Noir, that he takes off his mask and reveals that he is a Patriot clone, created by Vought in case the original loses control. After a fierce battle, Black Noir kills Homelander at the end of ‘The boys’.
Black Noir’s meaty, shivering body supports Homelander’s corpse and, to end his life, Butcher finally stabs Night Owl’s skull with a crowbar. This brutal and intense ending is accompanied by such graphic cartoons that even for the series “The Boys” would be shocking.
At this point it is uncertain that the end of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys” will be near in season four, but if it does, it indicates that Butcher’s goal has been achieved and that the overseers will be eradicated once and for all, and with it, the leader of the Vought Seven, Homelander.
