Konami recently announced a new structure deck for the Yu-Gi-Oh! GCC called Structure Deck: Dark World. As the name suggests, the main strategy will revolve around the fan-favorite Dark World archetype. These cards typically have effects that revolve around being discarded from your hand and can be really fun even if the cards haven’t always been the best. In Dark worldduelists will find Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World, returning along with a new version of Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World, both retrained with new abilities.
Reign-Beaux’s new form is a Level 8 monster with 3000 ATK with the ability to Special Summon from the Graveyard (or Graveyard as children say these days) itself by returning a Level 7 or lower Dark World monster to their hand off the ground. It looks pretty decent. Also, if Reign-Beaux is discarded you can search your Deck for any Dark World monster that is at least Level 5 and add it to your hand. We’ve been told that more happens if your opponent is causing the discard effect. My guess is that you Special Summon the monster instead.
Meanwhile, Grapha’s new form is a Fusion Monster that uses Grapha as a material along with any other DARK monster. Luckily there is no lack of those. You will be able to Summon this new monster using a new Spell Card that allows you to discard for Fusion Summon to give you the effects of your Dark Worlds. Nice synergy there. While you have the new Grapha Fusion, you will be able to “hijack a Normal Spell / Trap Card or an opponent’s monster effect, turning it into a discard effect that unleashes the true power of your” Dark World “monsters!”
Dark world will be released on December 2nd and will contain the following:
-
Five ultra rare cards
-
Three super rare cards
-
37 community cards
-
A Double-Sided Deluxe Playmat / Dueling Guide
