Marvel Studios took over Shang-Chi: The legend of the ten rings director Destin Daniel Cretton to direct the first of two major Phase 6 final films, Avengers: the Kang dynasty. The project was just announced over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con and the other film to be released is Avengers: Secret Wars.
Cretton will direct only The Kang dynastyand another director will take over the task of leading Secret Wars to life. Marvel fans were hoping that the Russo Bros. would return to direct it, but Kevin Feige has confirmed that they will not be involved.
At the moment, no screenwriters have been announced and we have no idea which characters will be involved, aside from Jonathan Majors’Kang the Conqueror, or what exactly the MCU version of the story will look like. In the comics in the early 2000s, Kang ended up taking over Earth, but the Avengers eventually defeated him.
I thought Chang-Chi he was great and I’m sure he will do a great job with him The Kang dynasty. It is also developing a Wonder Man series for Disney +. The guy is obviously in Marvel Studio for the long haul and there’s no doubt he’s going to do other great things.
The Kang dynasty will be released on May 2, 2025 and Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to open six months later, on November 7, 2025.
