If you are a Disney fan Gargoyle, you will be happy to hear that Dynamite Entertainment has announced that it will continue the story of the animated show with a new comic series! It has been explained that the series will pick up right where the original series left off.
Creator Greg Weisman will also return to help develop the comic and is currently working on the first issue. The series will resume after the events of Season 2. Yes, there was a third season, but it is not considered canonical by Wiseman and many others, as many of the original team members were not involved in it.
There aren’t many details to share regarding the story, but it’s quite interesting to know that the story will continue. I just wish it were in animated form! But, I’ll take what I can get.
Weisman has already written an issue of 18 Gargoyle comic series for Slave Labor Graphics in 2006, which collected the events of the second season of Gargoyles. Before that, Marvel had its 11 numbers Gargoyle run while the show was in progress. Although that Marvel series references the events of the show’s first season, Weisman doesn’t consider this canon.
There is no information as to whether this Dynamite series will relink SLG comics or pick up from the end.
