Amazon has announced that it has renewed Prime Video The wheel of time for a third season. The news comes before the second season premiere. The news fell during the Comic-Con presentation of the show.
The series follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called Aes Sedai, when he arrives in the town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a perilous journey across the world with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
I thought the eight episode first season was really good, so I’m happy to hear that the story will continue with a third season. The series comes from SHIELD agents And Spindle writer Rafe Judkinswho also doubles as showrunner and executive producer.
The series is based on Roberto Giordano’s books, and Judkins said in a statement, “I am so excited that we will be doing a third season of The wheel of time. The rising shadow has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and something I’ve been working on since when I first launched the show years and years ago.
