I assume most Marvel fans have seen the most recent MCU movie, Thor: Love and thunder by now, but before we move on, this is your warning that I’m getting into some spoilers about the post-credits scene.

One of the funniest aspects of a new Marvel movie are the post-credits scenes which usually give us a look at the next big thing coming to that particular plot. This time around we got two post scenes, one of which was included Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein appearing as the son of Zeus, Hercules! He’s got a super buff for the role, which I’m sure he’ll pay off when he appears in whatever role they use him.

Before taking on the role, however, he had to confide in someone about the decision. This was a difficult choice, as she swore to keep the secret and didn’t tell her family, but she ended up talking to her. Ted Lasso collaborator, Hanna Waddinghamwho plays Rebecca Welton in the series.

In a recent interview with Variety this week at Ted Lasso FYC Emmy Event at Maybourne Beverly Hills, Waddingham explained:

“He said to me, ‘I was offered this thing and I was wondering if I should take it?’ I went, ‘Are you mental? Are you having a moment? ‘ He was like, ‘Why?’ I said, ‘Are you seriously thinking you might not be playing Hercules for like three seconds?’ “

Then Waddingham never heard of it again until Love and thunder It was released. “I was like, ‘You’re cheeky bastard!'” He said.

Goldstein recalled secretly meeting with Marvel’s costume department to get his measurements for his Hercules armor, saying:

“I’ve never had anything that fits me so well. The shoes! I need to talk to you about the shoes. I had weird and big feet, but the shoes were perfect. I wore them and they were perfect from the start. They fit me perfectly ”.

Temple of Juno, who plays Keeley Jones, Goldstein’s love interest in the series, laughed when asked when she found out about the casting. “I can’t tell,” she said, smiling. But she was super excited when she saw the movie. “You say, ‘Dude, that’s one of my best friends in a big Hollywood movie!’ It was a brilliant casting. “

Phil Dunsterwho plays Ted Lasso even footballer Jamie Tartt hesitated to reveal when Goldstein could have told him the big news. “He’s always been Hercules to me,” he cracked. “He’s a big, strong boy.”

Goldstein insists he doesn’t know what the future holds for his Hercules, but Dunster hopes Marvel will give him more to do. “He is truly one of the sweetest, most caring and curious people you could ever know,” Dunster said. “I’m sure they will bring a lot of depth to Hercules if they do something with it. It’s funny because Hercules is like this grumpy dude and Brett is the guy who laughs at fart jokes with me.

I hope they use Goldstein to build the Hercules character, and I hope he is in another Thor film that will hopefully be directed by Taika Waititi. Nothing official has been put in place, but a girl can dream. Maybe we’ll hear more this Saturday when Marvel takes the Hall H stage at San Diego Comic-Con! We will keep you updated.
