The adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel, brought to the big screen by Denis Villeneuve, has taken the expectations for its second part to another level, and now they have already started filming “Dune: Part 2”, with the which has already revealed its first official synopsis.
With 6 Academy Awards, “Dune: Part 2” was a hit with critics and fans of Frank Herbert’s novel, and although the science fiction film with Timothée Chalamet has been postponed to November 17Warner has begun production of the second part, which was joined by, among others, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler.
With a photograph on social networks, it was confirmed that ‘Dunes: part 2’ started recording, and will return Denis Villeneuve to the presidency of the director, along with Eric Roth and Jon Psaiths as co-writers on the plot. As well as original cast members such as Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
In the new cast of “Dune: Part 2” are Florence Pugh, famous for appearing in Marvel’s “Black Widow” as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as “Elvis” as Feyd Rautha, Christpher Walken as the ‘Emperor, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot. and Souheila Yacoub.
How will the story of ‘Dune: Part 2’ continue?
With the announcement of the start of the recordings, Warner Bros has revealed the first official synopsis of ‘Dunes 2’: “This sequel will explore the mythical journey of Paul Atreides as he joins Chani and the Fremens in a war of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he struggles to avoid a terrible future that only he can foresee. “
A few additional details, was that in the image of the take that indicates the start of production of ‘Dune 2’, we read that the director Greig Fraser, who also worked on ‘The Batman’, will return for the sequel, from which he can read a small subtitle: “Long live the fighters!”.
Filming is currently underway in Italy and Budapest, but in the coming weeks it will be extended to Jordan and Abu Dhabi, where most of the scenes will be shot in the Arrakis desert, where Paul Atreides’ adventure with Chani will take place.
