Actor Blake Jenner, known for playing Ryder Lynn in “Glee,” was arrested by police in Burbank, California on Saturday, July 16.. According to reports from TMZ, Jenner had missed a red light and the police intercepted him to perform a breathalyzer test. Police confirmed that he exceeded the permitted blood alcohol limits.
The police released him the same day, pending court appearance later. He risks a crime of drunk driving, which would result in a fine, six months without a license, a period of unsupervised probation and a road safety course that the defendant will have to pay.
Controversial recidivist
This arrest is not the first controversy involving the actor who joined “Glee” in season four, after winning the “The Glee Project” contest. Jenner was married to Melissa Benoist, whom he met in “Glee”, between 2013 and 2016. The “Supergirl” actress explained a few years later that she suffered domestic violence and that she had also been a victim of extreme manipulation and control by her ex partner. The actor admitted her guilt, apologized to Benoist and assured him “He would never stop doing whatever it takes to improve in all areas of his life”.
After making himself known in “Glee”, Jenner was abandoned by “Supergirl”, where he coincided again with her partner at the time. In the cinema he has participated in films such as ‘We all want something’ by Richard Linklater or ‘On the edge of seventeen’. On television, he starred in “Dilemma” alongside Renée Zellweger in 2019.
