Amazon Prime Video is ready to give us new promotional material for ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, the series with which we find ourselves with settings and characters created by JRR Tolkien. The streaming platform has released a new trailer and Entertainment Weekly plus photos of the protagonists.
One of the big news that the series will have, set long before “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings”, is that we can visit Númenor, which became the knowledge capital of Middle-earth. The creators of “The Rings of Power” claim that they have been aware of every detail to do justice to Tolkien’s vision, and this starts with the advantage / disadvantage that the series does not adapt a specific novel but several notes and appendices to shape visual to the Second Era.
In Númenor we will meet the royal family, humans of elven blood, led by Mariel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson). She will be helped by her faithful advisor to her Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle), an important character in the future of the series. We will also discover Isildur, the ancestor of Aragorn, played by Maxim Baldry, and his sister Eärien (Ema Horvath), one of the characters created for the series..

They respond to complaints
JD Payne and Patrick McKay, showrunner of “The Rings of Power”, assure that Tolkien asked in his letters that “other minds and hands“will help expand your business. “He gave us, as we like to say, the stars in the sky and we have to connect them and draw the constellation” Payne says. The “The Rings of Power” team also has an answer to the cast diversity complaints: “Tolkien explores many themes, but one of them is the idea of people from different ethnicities, backgrounds and walks of life coming together for a common cause. For me personally as a viewer, I expect the series to reflect the real world as well as the world I hope it is “ says Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
