Just as Phoebe Waller-Bridge did with “James Bond” and “No Time to Die”, actress, screenwriter and director Emerald Fennell will help with the script for “Ballerina”, the spin-off of “John Wick” starring Ana de Armas, written by two men: Shay Hatten and Len Wiseman (the latter also directs it). Whether or not it will be officially recognized will be decided by the Writers Guild of America.

“It was very important for me to have a female writer, because until now, When I joined the project, there was only the director, Len Wiseman, and one other man “Armas explained to Elle magazine, “I thought ‘this doesn’t work for me’, so I interviewed five or six writers. We hired Emerald Fennell, which I’m very proud of.” Fennell made history in 2021 with “A Young Woman of Promise” by winning the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay after 13 years of male-only winners and was also nominated alongside Chloé Zhao in the Best Director category. But it is also that Fennell was the showrunner of “Killing Eve” and played Camilla Bowles in two seasons of “The Crown”.
the two films
In “Ballerina” Armas plays a killer who seeks revenge against those who killed her family. A character who takes no prisoners, very similar to Keanu Reeves in the first ‘John Wick’. Apart from these two things, we don’t know anything else about the project, not even who will be with the actress in the film.
And returning to the original saga, Reeves will return to the franchise with “John Wick 4”, which hits theaters on March 24, 2023. This episode is directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Hatten and Michael Finch.
