James Franco is intended to star in a postwar drama titled Me youand will act alongside Tom Hollander (The night manager) And Margaret Jacob (Vanity Fair).

The film is a coming-of-age story that takes place on the Italian island of Ischia in the 1950s. “It is there that Marco, a sixteen year old on break from his sad Scottish boarding school, makes friends with the American soldier who became a fisherman Nicola (Franco). The two spend hours sailing in the Gulf of Naples while Nicola gives his young friend stories of war and oceans “.

But when Marco meets the mysterious Caia (Jacob), 20, “he is enchanted and after discovering that she is a concentration camp survivor, he vows to take revenge. He soon plots to set fire to a villa occupied by a group of rough German tourists in the hopes of winning Caia’s affection. Hollander plays Marco’s father, Edward.

The film is described as “Deeply tender and bittersweet” and “explores the raw beauty and tragedy of love, the age of innocence and the bitter realities of war”.
