XEL is a new sci-fi adventure game from developer Tiny Roar and publisher Assemble Entertainment. The game just launched on PC and Nintendo Switch and was made as “a love letter to the classic Zelda games and other top-down RPGs that define the genre[.]”The game looks great fun and I wish I had time to play it. The game lets you explore a mysterious world with time travel and more to find out what secrets and dark past it might hold.
Shipwrecked in an unknown world, players take on the role of Reid, an unexpected heroine in the world she is stuck in. Deprived of her past memories of her, Reid must traverse this strange planet, battling enemies and solving underground puzzles along the way. In collaboration with her cheeky mate Chap, Reid must unearth the secrets lurking in this forgotten world and reveal the bond she has with it, otherwise she risks being trapped in the same pattern of destruction she is tasked with. to end.
