Nominations for the 2022 Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday, July 12, and according to forecasts, series like ‘Succession’, ‘Ted Lasso’, ‘The White Lotus’ or ‘Hacks’ have blown away, capture the largest number of applications in a year that, once again, has raised the bar of quality television, which continues in its perennial golden age.

The big winners of the previous edition repeat the feat: the acclaimed ‘Succession’ rises as the most nominated series of the year, with 25 nominations. It is followed by the beloved sports comedy “Ted Lasso”, which comes in second with 20, tied with the newcomer miniseries (and soon an anthology series) “The White Lotus”. Present in 17 categories, however, ‘Hacks’, the brilliant comedy starring Jean Smart, the same figure as ‘Only murders in the building’, one of the great surprises of 2021, which this year stands out as one of the favorites to get the precious figurines. Meanwhile, the teenage phenomenon “Euphoria” garnered 16 nominations, including four for Zendaya, who becomes the youngest person ever nominated in the producer category. Sydney Sweeney, meanwhile, received double nominations, for ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The White Lotus’.
Other series and miniseries that have received nominations are “Stranger Things”, “Barry”, “Separation”, “Better Call Saul”, “Ozark”, “Yellowjackets” or the ubiquitous “The Squid Game”.
