If you haven’t finished watching Unknown things 4 however, you may want to skip this one as it involves the doomed fate of one of the main characters in the story.
Hellfire Club leader Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), he’s been a fantastic character this season! Everyone loved Eddie, but unfortunately he didn’t make it. In the season finale, he sacrificed himself to buy Steve, Nancy and Robin more time to defeat Vecna.
Eventually it got overrun by demobats in the Upside Down and they tore it apart pretty well. Eventually he tragically dies in Dustin’s arms.
The Duffer Brothers recently shared what an alternate ending would have been like for the character if he had survived, but it would have been just as tragic. You see, Eddie was always going to be a doomed character. In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Matt Duffer She said:
“In a way, we saw Eddie as a somewhat doomed character. Even imagining the downside of surviving the battle isn’t even a good life waiting for Eddie in his place. start as a doomed character. “
Ross Duffer added that the story could only end in his death as he would always be “a tragic character. There has never been any other story arc for him and there was no ‘how do you survive this?'” He explained :
“In the end, you see people still drawing devil horns on his head – no one in Hawkins will accept a supernatural explanation for that. He would have ended up in jail and this fantasy that he would be able to walk and graduate sadly was never a realistic result. for him”.
Yes, it is understandable. Munson just found himself in a very difficult situation and Eddie’s story was so tragic. But there are many fan theories that Eddie will return to Unknown things 5. There are some great theories and I wouldn’t like anything other than Eddie to come back somehow, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
