Marvel Thor: Love and thunder was released in theaters this weekend and was met with many mixed reactions from fans. Even though the movie definitely had some issues, I enjoyed it and thought it had some very good and great moments. In the end I’m happy with how it turned out.
Natalie Portman recently spoke to IndieWire about the film and said there was a lot of great material that was shot for the film that ended up on the editing room floor:
“It’s just amazing how much great material there isn’t in the film, considering how much great material there is in it. Usually, it’s like you’re just trying to get enough good material to put into the film, and that was overflowed. So that was it. really amazing”.
Some of the things we know about being cut include cameos from Peter DinklageEitri and Jeff Goldblumhe is the Grand Master. We are now learning that a lot of those deleted scenes are also involving Christian Baleis Gorr the Butcher God.
In an interview with Collider, Bale shared that some of his favorite scenes as Gorr were cut out of the movie! He said there was a “very terrible” that he wished there was in the film:
“There’s so much gold on the editing room floor, hilarious and creepy things as hell, but maybe that was pushing him into a realm where he might not be family-friendly, which we always wanted to be.”
I would love to see other creepy things! Is there a footage that was shot that pushed the limits of R rating? One of those scenes featured a terrifying scream that Bale wanted in the movie. Previously he talked about that scream here.
Hope all this footage is finally released, fans will love to see it! Bale also praised Taika Waititi’s work and her humor, saying:
“He’s got a lot of sincerity too. He’s a true artist. And so, man, he’s touching. That’s the damn amazing thing about this movie. It’s a very moving film and then two seconds later, you’re laughing out loud.”
