Disney’s SPLASH MOUNTAIN Transformation into TIANA’S BAYOU ADVENTURE Gets a Release Date and New Details

In 2020 it was announced that the classic attraction Splash Mountain was about to undergo a rebranding and restyling in the style of the 2009 Disney animated photo, The Princess and the Frog. The ride currently resides in the Disneyland and Disney World parks and under the new name Tiana’s Bayou Adventureit should arrive at the end of 2024.

Splash Mountain was based on the story of Uncle Remus Br’er Rabbit in the controversial 1946 Disney film Southern song, which has long been interrupted and disavowed by the rat house. Imagineers’ goal in this updated effort is to pay homage to New Orleans history and heritage.

Deadline reports that “The new incarnation of The Flume Ride will pick up the story of the film after the final kiss, following Princess Tiana (played by Anika Noni Rose) and Louis as they prepare for their first Mardi Gras performance. Rose is involved in the project ”.

From exploring the French market and the bayou, to consulting with academics, chefs, musicians and cultural institutions, the Imagineers have received inspiration from across the region and learned from local experts along the way. “

I have no doubt that this new attraction will be a lot of fun. I loved the music in Splash Mountainbut The Princess and the Frog it has wonderful music and such a beautiful background, I think it is a great match for the attraction, and I can’t wait to try it when it’s all over!
