Samsung just simplified access to video games on Smart TVs. The team recently announced that it is officially rolling out the Samsung Gaming Hub to all Samsung Smart TVs and Smart Monitors in 2022. Gaming Hub is an all-in-one game streaming platform that lets you access your favorite services. As of now, supported platforms include Google Stadia, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Utomik, and Xbox with Amazon Luna on the way. This is designed to be a convenient way to access everything you need and play faster. Samsung President, Vinto-Jin She said:
The Samsung Gaming Hub combines Samsung’s leadership in streaming technology with our expertise in creating the industry’s most cutting-edge hardware, removing barriers to entry so people can just play games. With the expansion of partnerships between leading game streaming services and expert-curated recommendations, players will be able to easily browse and discover games from the widest selection available, regardless of platform.
Samsung Gaming Hub is powered by Tizen and lets you use your favorite accessories like Bluetooth headsets and controllers, so you don’t have to go out and buy new hardware. The Gaming Hub will also offer “expert-curated advice based on the latest and most popular games”. The real test will be to see if these are actual recommendations or streaming services. Through the Gaming Hub, music and streaming services are also integrated to provide easy connections to Spotify, Twitch and YouTube and stay up to date on the latest game news and tutorials.
Samsung is also proud of the advanced motion enhancements and latency reduction technology included in the new Smart TV and Monitor lines. These devices require faster decoding and optimized buffer controls to reduce input lag by an average of more than 30% over previous models. Additionally, Samsung’s latest AI upscaling technology claims to “optimize game graphics” for an exceptional experience. If you own a 2022 Samsung Smart TV or monitor, let us know how Gaming Hub works in the comments below.
