Taron Egerton could be the next Wolverine: the actor would meet Kevin Feige and Marvel

Hugh Jackman will no longer play Logan, so Wolverine from the Marvel Cinematic Universe needs a new face and it looks like it could be that of Taron Egerton. The actor, who will premiere the series ‘Locked up with the Devil’ on Apple TV + on July 8, spoke in an interview for the New York Times about this possibility and the media have assured that, in fact, has already met Kevin Feige and other Marvel Studios bosses to talk about the role.

“I don’t think it’s wrong to say it”Egerton responds when asked if he would like to take Jackman’s place, “I would be thrilled. but also apprehensive, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I wonder if it wouldn’t be very difficult for someone else to play him. But hopefully, if that happens, they’ll give me a chance. “ ends up referring to the fans. It is not the first time that Egerton has spoken publicly about the character, already in 2019 he had told CQ Magazine that it was really flattering that someone thought of him as a possible Wolverine, worse than the rumors were unfounded.

Jackman has officially played Wolverine 8 times in 17 years, from “X-Men” to “Logan” to “Days of Future Past” or “Immortal Wolverine”, and he has also voiced the character in several video games. Since he left the character, he has appeared in titles such as “Reminiscence”, “The Swindle”, “The Candidate” and “The Greatest Showman”.

the wrong reasons

We met Egerton in 2012 in the movie ‘The Last of the Haussmans’ and have since seen him in ‘Testament of Youth’, in the saga of ‘Kingsman’, ‘Eddie the Eagle’, ‘Robin Hood’ and of course as Elton John in the biopic “Rocketman”. Regarding his participation in “Robin Hood” and “The Young Billionaires’ Club”, Egerton states in the same interview we talked about before “he ignored his instincts” and who took those two sheets “because they offered me a lot of money to do it and it’s terrible, you can’t choose roles like that.” Among his upcoming projects, in addition to a possible incorporation into the UCM, stands out the film ‘Tetris’ by Jon S. Baird based on the legal battle that surrounded the popular video game.
