Wasn’t on Netflix: “Uncharted” starring Tom Holland premiered on HBO Max in July – Courtesy (Sony Pictures)
At the end of June it was announced that Netflix would release “Uncharted” in the US, while it was doubted that the film would have the same fate in the Latin American region. Now it turns out that wasn’t the case, after HBO Max revealed that this will arrive in its catalog in July film starring Tom Holland and Mark Welhberg.
The Netflix service announced that “Uncharted” would arrive in its catalog on July 15 across the United States, and the logical thing was that the same would happen in other countries, including those in Latin America. However, it looks like the film will arrive in this region much sooner and on another streaming platform as well.
Through social networks it was revealed that HBO Max Latin America will premiere “Uncharted” on July 8th, arriving nearly a week before the film’s scheduled release on Netflix US. It is possible that after its arrival on the Warner Media service, it will not be integrated into another digital catalog; but we will have to wait until the arrival of the 15th of the same month to find out if the destination is different and ends up being on two platforms.
On the other hand, the film adaptation of the video game “Uncharted” created by Naughty Dog; arrives on HBO Max to join all the other Sony films that are in his catalog and that, moreover, have been released in 2022. It is the case of “Spiderman: No Way Home” and “Morbius”.
‘Uncharted’, an ‘Indiana Jones’ style adventure
The “Uncharted” adventure is based on the Nauthy Dog video game of the same name, but also has its own original twist with the with Tom Holland and Mark Welhberg as Nathan Drake and Sullivan, two ancient treasure hunters who join forces to hunt against each other … just like you normally see in an “Indiana Jones” movie.
However, far from the saga of adventure films starring Harrinson Ford, it has a much more modern and much less fantastic setting. In ‘Uncharted’, Nathan and Sullivan are looking for a dangerous adventure in which, moreover, they experience persecution by other power groups who are also looking for the treasure they want.
For now there is no trace that the film will have a second part, especially after receiving 40% from critics and very little enthusiasm from video game fans, protagonists and fantasy cinephiles. Although, for now, it remains only to wait for its premiere on HBO Max.
