Nickelodeon shared the first trailer for their upcoming live-action film project Monster High: The Movie, which is based on the popular Mattel toy line. I am very familiar with this line of toys because my three daughters loved collecting these dolls at one point. The film looks pretty much like what you’d expect from a Monster High movie.
Monster High: The Movie follows “Clawdeen Wolf (My Harris, Just beyond), born half human and half werewolf, after arriving at her new school, Monster High. She quickly befriends her classmates Frankie Stein (Chickpeas Balagot, Shipments from Elsewhere) and Draculaura (Nayah Damasen, Grey’s Anatomy), and for the first time in her life, Clawdeen feels like she has finally found a place to fit in and be able to truly be herself, despite keeping her half human secret. When a devious plan to destroy Monster High threatens to reveal her true identity, Clawdeen must learn to embrace her true monster heart and find a way to save the day.
The film is also the protagonist Walker case (The other two) as Deuce Gorgon; Kyle Selig (Bad Girls on Broadway) as Mr. Komos; Marci T. House (Day of death) as director of Bloodgood; The Scot Ellis Loring (Fire station dog) as Clawdeen’s father, Apollo; Steve Valentino (Mom) as Draculaura’s father, Dracula; Jy Prishkulnik (Just beyond) as Cleo de Nile; Lina Lecompte (Pursuit of death) such as Lagoona Blue; Justin Derickson (When the street lights come on) as Heath Burns; Lilah Fitzgerald (Honey girls) as Ghoulia; And Nasiv Sal (Descendants 2) such as Abbey Bominable. It is explained that “additional fan-favorite characters from the Monster High universe will also be seen throughout the film.”
There is also a Monster High animated series in development. Monster High: The Movie will premiere on Nickelodeon and Paramount + on October 6, 2022.
