In 1987, the first sci-fi action movie “Predator” was released with Arnold Schwarzenegger and the franchise has had its ups and downs ever since. Now, the fifth chapter of the saga already has an official trailer, and it’s called ‘Prey’, which will premiere very soon through Star +.

In Spanish it will be called “Predator: La Presa” and originally “Prey’, which will be released on August 5 in Latin America through the Star + platform, Disney’s alternative service where you can find films and series with content aimed at a more adult audience.

Director Dan Trachtenberg will be responsible for ‘Prey’, the prequel of ‘Predator’, from a screenplay written by Patrick Aison and produced by John Davis, Jhana Myers and with 20th Century Fox, which will be set 300 years after the first installment of the’ Predator ‘franchise.

Other works by Dan Trachtenberg are “10 Cloverfield Avenue” and “Portal: No Escape”. In the main cast of “Prey” we will see Amber Midthunder as Nary, Dane Diliegro as the Predator, as well as Stefany Mathias, Michelle Thrush and other almost entirely native casts.

The story of ‘Prey’, the prequel to ‘Predator’

Thanks to the official synopsis of ‘Prey’, we see the story begin “When danger threatens his encampment, he sets out to protect his people. The prey he pursues and ultimately confronts turns out to be an evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, leading to a cruel and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

The protagonist of ‘Prey’ will be Naru, a member of a Comanche tribe, a young and skilled warrior who seeks a place among the most legendary hunters of the Great Plains, and who will face a threat from another planet, that you have the technology by your side.

In an effort to get an accurate representation of the Comanche tribe and its time, much of the “Prey” cast is known to have native talents such as Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Zorzal and Julian Black Antelope. Now all that remains is to wait until August 5th for its premiere.
