Fans of the series Community they have been hoping for a later film for years. The show ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015 and had new life and an expanded fan base while streaming during the pandemic. The series starred Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Donald Glove, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Chevy Chase, Ken JeongAnd Jim Rashand it took place in a community college, where a group of interesting and funny characters become friends.
After the character Abed (Pudi) exclaimed the phrase “six seasons and a movie!” on her favorite show (The cloak, by the way), has become a fan mantra, and they are hoping for that trajectory. In a recent ComicBook interview, Joel McHale talked about the possibility of a movie, which seems more possible than ever:
“I’m saving up all the money to make [the movie] to happen. Before, when I answered the question, I thought, “Maybe, I have no idea.” But now, with the success of streamers during the pandemic, interest has returned. I’d say it’s more likely than before, for sure, but it’s like building an aircraft carrier. You say, ‘We will, right? Yes, ok, they’re all here, we’ve got the money. ‘ Now, this thing has to actually be built. There’s a lot more to it than just “Hey, let’s make a movie now, great”. They are a lot of moving parts. So I’m more positive than I was, for sure, but we’ll see. It’s a terrible answer, but much better than my answer two years ago. “
