Director Robert Schwentke (RED, Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins) is developing a new post-apocalyptic science fiction series titled Heligoland 513: 2034 for Sky Studios.
The series is based on Schwentke’s original idea and the story “imagines a world where the North Sea island of Heligoland has become humanity’s last safe haven. But the totalitarian society in office dictates that only 513 people can live on the island, and each resident is assigned a “social ranking” based on their “usefulness”. Meanwhile, a dangerous force from the mainland prepares to invade and conquer Heligoland.
The series will consist of seven episodes and Schwentke will begin principal photography later this year. It looks like this show will tell an interesting story and be a good project for Schwentke to work on.
