“Return of the Witches” plans to cast a spell on us again with a magical sequel with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, the Sanderson sisters from the original who are revived (again) to get their hands on the children of Salem. ‘Return of the Witches 2’ wants to conquer the autumn season by thinking of a nostalgic Halloween for Disney +.

This film comes out on September 30th played by a new group of teenagers who ruin everything by playing with a spell, malice that ends with the ignition of the black flame that brings back the witches. This is what the first trailer of the film shows, a short teaser trailer with hints of the humor of the first episode and clues to a plot very similar to the one we saw in theaters in 1993.
Becca (Whitney Peak / ‘Gossip Girl’), Cassie (Lilia Buckingham / ‘Dirt’) and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo / ‘American Horror Stories’) accidentally awakening the iconic sorceresses together with which we will also see Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen. Furthermore, the advance alludes to the alleged musical number that will try to replicate the success of the great ‘I Put a Spell on You’ that we enjoyed in the first episode. Midler, Parker and Najimy themselves reacted to all this in a video released by Disney +. The three burst out laughing when the Sandersons return and praise the effects of the teaser. “It looks so good!”They say between laughs.
Another original is omitted
The magical props return, but the same does not happen with the rest of the cast of “Return of the Witches”. Doug Jones, who plays Billy Butcherson, a zombie who rises from the grave after Winifred (Midler) resurrects him; he is among the returns, but the same does not happen with Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw and Thora Birch.
These three performers, who once embodied the target of witches, will not appear in the sequel, nor will we still hear one of the more recognizable voices from that ’90s tape. According to Entertainment Weekly, Jason Marsden, who voiced the cat Thackery Binx in the original film, is not involved in the sequel. The cat that appears in the trailer, which had aroused the enthusiasm of many fans, It has nothing to do with Binx, so we’ll have to make do with the return of Winifred, Sarah, Mary and Billy.
