IFC Films shared another trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller Resurrectionwhat stars Rebecca Sala And Tim Roth. I saw this movie at Sundance earlier this year and didn’t like it. The film got some good reviews, but I didn’t care about the story. I especially didn’t like the way the film ended and thought it was ridiculous. It made absolutely no sense to me.
The story follows a woman whose carefully constructed life is turned upside down when an unwanted shadow from her past returns to it and forces her to face the monster she has been avoiding for two decades.
The film comes from the writer and director Andrea Semanand this is the synopsis:
Margaret (Rebecca Hall) leads an orderly and successful life, perfectly balancing the demands of her hectic career and single parenting with her fiercely independent daughter Abbie. She is all under control. But that careful balance is upset when an unwanted shadow from her past, David (Tim Roth), returns, bringing with it the horrors of Margaret’s past. Fighting her growing fear of her, Margaret must face the monster she has avoided for two decades and has come to terms with their pending business.
If you want, you can read my review of the film here. Even if I didn’t care about the movie, that doesn’t mean you won’t. Like I said, it got some good reviews from people. If the trailer sounds interesting to you, you can check out the film when it hits theaters and on VOD starting August 5, 2022.
