Taika Waititi on Chris Hemsworth’s ass in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’: “Train so hard you have to show it”

10 years, a whole decade, that’s how long it took Chris Hemsworth to realize his dream of showing Thor’s ass on the big screen. During the “Thor: Love and Thunder” red carpet, the actor joked with Variety about how long he strips off in Marvel movies, but only from the waist up. “The first time I played Thor I took off my shirt and thought, ‘You know better. In a decade, I’ll take it off.'” says Hemsworth, but obviously the final decision on what will appear in the film rests with his director, Taika Waititi, and it seems that for him it was a question of justice:

“Taika Waititi on the decision to show Thor’s ass in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’: we had to show it, not cover it with all that dress and cloak.”

Waititi, which repeats itself in the franchise after “Thor: Ragnarok”, doesn’t want to take all the credit for the idea, so he assures that they talked a lot with producer, Brad Winderbaum, and decided they had to show him body: “Chris trains so hard, you have to teach him, don’t cover him with the suit and cape. It’s not fair.” In any case, it’s not the first time the actor has been naked for a movie, he has already done so in ‘Rush’.

The cast of “Thor: Love and Thunder”, which hits theaters next July, is rounded out by Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe and Chris Pratt, among others.
