For over 50 years NERF has no mascot. To correct this, they unleashed Murph on the world. Designed to embody a playful spirit, Murph is covered from head to toe in NERF darts. You can expect to see it appear on social media, at retail sales, and pop-up surprises. He is meant to encourage families to play together and, of course, get active with NERF toys.
I know they have good intentions, and for the kids Murph will probably be a pleasure, my five year old says he still looks like a “silly and scary monster”. I think it sounds like an urban legend of a cryptid coming to life, like it’s the last thing some unfortunate teenagers see before they’re eaten by it. I think it’s the lack of a face that worries me, it’s hard to gauge his attitude from just still images without a face to work with. Obviously, I, being an adult, am not the target audience to be delighted with this monster. But what do you think, do you like this mascot design? Would you like to see it in person at events?
