Dead Pool screenwriters Rhett Reese And Paul Wernick they offered a little update on Deadpool 3 and shared some information about the kind of story he will tell. In a recent interview with Post Cred Pod, they were asked about the film and Reese shared that it will be a “fish out of water story”. He explained:
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for fish out of water. Deadpool is a madman at the center of a film. Usually, the insane are the secondary characters and the protagonist is reasonably sane and our film is upside down. Dropping a crazy in a very healthy world, it’s pure butter, it’s going to be really fun.
The writers were then asked if there are any characters or aspects of the MCU they can’t wait to make fun of, and Reese replied:
“How many movies have they given us? We have a treasure trove of things to make fun of and Deadpool’s equal opportunities, so the game is fair to everyone.
Damn… Deadpool 3 it will be great! It’s not really hard to imagine the scenario fishing out of the water as Deadpool will find himself in a whole new universe with the MCU and things will get very interesting.
The writer previously said Marvel Studios were “very supportive” of the film’s R-rating. Shawn Levy will direct the film and I can’t wait to see what he and his creative team will offer!
