James Gunn has just shared some new teases about the future of the DCU, and it seems that there is a lot that cooks behind the scenes that fans have not yet heard of.
In a new interview with GQ, Gunn has revealed that two films are already making progress in development, together with a mysterious TV series that has not yet been officially illuminated.
“At this moment, in reality there are two really interesting screenplays of films that I hope to bring to the next level for which we have general plans, and I am enthusiastic about both.”
He then added:
“And then I am enthusiastic about a particular television project. I don’t know why we are not already enlightened, it’s just about understanding the budget.
“So there are a couple of things that are very present that I am enthusiastic. To face the form of Supergirl, all these other things.”
While Gunn has not directly appointed projects, fans already have a good idea of what could be on the table. On the big screen, Supergirl AND Clay they will come out next year, with Man of tomorrow In line for 2027.
In addition to those, there is a growing list of films in the works that could match Gunn’s teasing, too The brave and the bold, Authority, Swamp Thingand a new Wonder Woman Movies.
As for the small screen, the DCU currently has WallerA Pacifier spin-off e Paradise has lostA series of prequels by Wonder Woman, all in development. Animated shows with Blu Scarabeo AND Mister Miracle They are also coming.
Could Gunn’s mysterious project be linked to one of these, or is he mentioning something completely new? I guess we will find out!
With so many titles announced when DC Studios revealed for the first time his list of chapter one in January 2023, things felt relatively quiet on the update front. Gunn’s Toease could be Spark’s fans who were waiting to demonstrate that the DCU machine is still going on.
Whatever those projects are, it is clear that Gunn is lit on them. Now the wait begins to see which films and shows will compete later.
