The last episode of Pacifier Season 2 has still delivered its wildest touch. Episode 6, entitled “Ignorance is Chris”, dives in depth in the truth behind the alternative reality that Chris Smith has lived and the revelation is much darkest than it expected.
Finally, the fans also had a surprise DCU cameo so the foundations could be laid Man of tomorrow in 2027.
The story opens with the peacemaker who embraces his new life full of renowned in this alternative world, while in the DCU, Emilia Harcourt, Leota Adebayo, John Economos and vigilante work to understand how to use the TC to cross the size.
While the team investigates Chris’s house, Rick Flag Sr. stages Belle Reve to question someone who could keep the key to find it.
That someone is nothing more than Lex Luthor. The shocking cameo reveals Lex behind the bars, which is now based on a stick after his meeting with Krypto. We discover that Hehas was sentenced to 265 years of age and hates being surrounded by metumans.
Argus offers him an agreement with a more comfortable life in exchange for his knowledge of the interdimensional portals. Rick refuses to free him but offers him “an opportunity for redemption”. The two restless allies are working together.
In the meantime, Emilia and Keith’s journey to Argus makes a detour when he is held after the portal journey leaves her covered with cocaine residues from the last vigilante bust. Elsewhere, Chris meets with Emilia in his idealized reality.
The two share a tense exchange that touches her past with Rick Flag Jr. and Peacemaker feelings for her. He admits that he loves her, but she cannot return the feeling and seems unwilling to give up her new life.
Spiral things when vigilant confronts his alternative self, discovering that this version is not his friend but an enemy linked to the children of freedom. Leota also gets a disturbing tasting of the prejudice of the world when you meet with hateful looks, culminating in Keith screaming: “One came out! A black!”
To the solicitations of Emilia, Chris takes a closer look at the American flag, just to see the stars replaced with a Nazi symbol. The horrible truth begins, this alternative land is governed by the Nazis.
From there, things intensify quickly. John Economos is captured by Peacemaker’s father, who learns the truth about his son. The Harcourt alternative requires the arrest of its counterpart and Leota finds herself driven out of a furious crowd in this terrifying world.
Pacifier Season 2 has never avoided heavy themes, but this episode could be the most chilling. Forces Chris to face the ugly side of the world he thought was perfect, also organizing important implications for the wider DCU. With Lex Luthor now at stake, it seems that the seeds are planted for what will come Man of tomorrow.
The series continues to provide an unpredictable mix of outrageous humor, drama and connections of the wild dc.
