This is an excellent trailer and I am so excited to look at and see how this wild and nightmare story takes place. The trailer builds a lot of tension with Derry’s social climate in the 1960s, and then things intensify madly when Bill SkarsgårdPennywise begins his kingdom of terror.
Set in the universe of King’s iconic novel, Welcome to Derry expands on the vision introduced by Andy Muschietti In movies.
Muschietti, which produces the series together executive Barbara Muschietti AND Jason FuchsHe says that the show dives deep into the roots of the derry nightmares: “There is a reason why the story is told on the contrary”.
The first season is set in 1962, a few years before the events of IT: Chapter one. Future Seasons will travel further in the past, with season 2 exploring 1935 and season 3 dating back to 1908. The series draws inspiration from the interludes in King’s original novel, which describes in detail the search for Mike Hanlon on the horrible Derry past. Muschietti explains:
“Interlude are basically chapters who reflect Mike Hanlon’s research … fragments of his research. For 27 years, he is the boy who tries to understand what it is, what he did, who has done, who has seen it and all that stuff.”
Each season will explore one of the 27 -year -old terror cycles of Pennywise and the catastrophic events that came with them. Muschietti makes fun of:
“They speak of the catastrophic events of the past, such as The Fire in the Black Spot … The massacre of the Bradley gang, a band of banks thieves in the 1930s … and the explosion of the Kitchener Ironworks.”
These tragedies will serve as a spine of the show narrative, promising a bloody and terrifying history lesson for fans of the franchise. Muschietti confirms:
“We are based the three seasons of this series on each of these catastrophic events.”
With the excitement that will come out of the Comic-Con and Warner Bros. According to what reported is enthusiastic about the first season, we are already talking about the season 2 of fast tracking.
