James Gunn offers promising the courageous and daring update that says he has “a nice story”

When it comes to Batman’s future in the new DC universe, fans were waiting for James Gunn To finally pay something concrete. Until now, he has maintained rather vague things. But Gunn has just dropped the most promising update The brave and the boldAnd it seems that he is really enthusiastic about the story that he and his team are building.

On the 2 bears, 1 podcast cave, Gunn gave a surprisingly direct mockery:

“I think we now have a really beautiful story for what’s going on with Batman.”

But he didn’t stop there. Guest Tom Segura He pushed him if we finally have a more colorful Batman dress in the DCU, moving away from the all -black or black and gray armor that is called the most modern live versions.

Gunn recognized the debates on which fans are obsessed, but clarified that, for him, attention will always be the narrative:

“There is a religious aspect in some of these things that is very uncomfortable. Batman should have white eyes? This is a great topic of conversation. It is how,” guys, this really is what matters? “But these are the things they care about.

“Should your utility belt be yellow? Should the yellow ridge have around the bat? All such a kind of things. None of these things is what is most important for me. What matters is the character, the story.”

This does not mean that Gunn is not open to explore several flavors of the dark knight. In fact, he celebrated the many faces of Batman’s fans over the decades:

“I think it’s one of Batman’s funny things, however, it is that there are so many Batman expressions that are cool and [having] Several ways to access that character is one of the ways in which it is so iconic.

“I don’t think it’s a matter of Blue and the Gray or Black Batman. I think both of these things are really beautiful. I like the detective Batman, but I also like the Batman fighter, this is only the brute who is, you know, fighting.

“I like the silver age of the 1950s Batman, with Bat-Hate. I like all these different versions of Batman.”

When it comes to his personal taste, Gunn revealed that his love for Batman really clicked when he discovered the darkest and most supernatural socket since the early 70s, in particular Batman #225 Of Dennis O’Neil AND IRV NOVICKwith a classic cover of Neal Adams.

“My experience with Batman, as a child … was reading those first comic books of Neal Adams Batman than the 70s who were much darkest and more grittical, and I was like, ‘Oh, I like this Batman.’

“I had seen the most silly Batman on TV, and I am like” Oh, it’s gritty, cool Batman. “And this was the thing I really like, that version of Batman, who was a kind of Batman that we had never seen.”

“This was my favorite story. It was in a collection of Batman comics that I read, and I just thought it was the biggest ever. It was Batman – also a supernatural Batman, which is something we have never seen. Batman in a sort of supernatural environment.”

That era of O’Neil and Adams was changing the game for Batman, pulling him out of the Campy silver era and rooting him in the stories of Gothic crime while also introduced Ra’s to Ghul and his daughter Talia.

With The brave and the bold Despositional to explore Batman’s complicated relationship with Damian Wayne, his son with Talia, it is very possible that Ra and Lazzaro Pit will play a role in this new story.

For nowThe brave and the bold It does not have a release date, but Gunn’s enthusiasm and the clear direction for the character should give fans a lot of trust. If he is really pulling from that O’Neil and darkest O’Neil material, then the DCU Batman could be one of the most exciting shots that we have seen for years.
